![]() ![]() What was one of the most memorable moments of The Remaining: Aftermath? So far, the first two books rank really high on my favorite end of the world / zombie stories. Where does The Remaining: Aftermath rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far? Have you listened to any of Christian Rummel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?Īwesome follow-up! couldn't stop listening! Have a more believable scenario that didn't cause me to skip chapters to end the pain of hearing the story play out in an unbelievable way. Molles have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you? Why didn't the author have him drop off the supplies and return to the town, then things could have gone sideways? Or have them head back and Doc go crazy somewhere on the road? I could get past some of the dumb choices he made in the first book, but this is insanity. Not even a couch commando would divert from a relatively easy 30 mile return trip, with a truck full of life or death supplies for a starving community, to recon a town and maybe drop off a radio to someone that may or may not be dead. SPOILERS***SPOLIERS*** The main character, Lee, makes some of the dumbest choices compared to his background. Please read the disclaimer. Is there anything you would change about this book? In 2003, Swanö reconvened the outfit as a one-man band (with several session musicians, however) and recorded a sequel to Crimson, naturally entitled Crimson II. Swanö was replaced by Robert Karlsson, the vocalist of Pan-thy-monium (a side project in which Swanö was also involved), but after one more album, the same year's Cryptic, the band split up. After one more album, 1997's Infernal, guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Dan Swanö left the band, and his departure is generally associated with a decline in quality in the band's material. Crimson was a 40-minute concept album consisting entirely of one track, concerning a post-apocalyptic future in which mankind had lost the ability to breed. The Spectral Sorrows, Until Eternity Ends, and Purgatory Afterglow continued the trend, so that by the release of 1996's Crimson they were recording full-on progressive metal. While artists like Bathory and Emperor had recorded songs that could be regarded as epic, Edge of Sanity are regarded alongside Opeth as being the first to fuse extreme metal styles like death and black metal with genuine progressive rock.Įdge of Sanity asserted themselves as a solid death-metal outfit with their debut release Nothing But Death Remains, but their second release Unorthodox, with tracks like "Enigma" and "When All Is Said," showed them branching out from some of the genre's conventions.
